Doc Ron/ Neighbor/Friend

We were long distance neighbors to start, but once he and the family made FL their primary residence, we were blessed to get to know Doc Ron on a deeper level. He cared about our family and constantly was giving retirement/financial wisdom to my husband as he wanted to make sure we were prepared for the future.
He was strong and hard working. We always saw him outside working in his yard. It was only this last year that we might see him resting or taking a break.
Our families (including his cats and our dogs), hunkered down together at a local business that had a sturdy building, as Hurricane Irma passed through. Once safe back at home, we shared a generator and worked together to make sure each other’s yards were cleaned up from all the debris.
We shared a few meals. Even during this last year if we were just dropping something off, he’d want us to come in and sit down and visit with him. It’s like he wasn’t finished sharing his wisdom.
He loved us and we loved him. Six months of last year he was on a mission to help our family figure out the unknown, as our daughter battled a rare cancer, all while he dealt with his own health issues. At one point we were neighbors on the same floor at the hospital. Wherever we were, he was concerned about our well-being. I guess, once a doctor, always a doctor:)
God put us together on Little River Lane for a reason… and we are blessed to have had the time and memories together that we did. We pray comfort for all the family and plan to help with whatever neighborly needs may arise. We want you to know, Doc Ron will always have a special place in our hearts and the knowledge he shared is a treasure we will always embrace.

Sending our love and hugs from FL on this day of the Memorial Service,
The Sammet Family
