Facing Challenges

I first met Dr Gilcher in 1979, when he interviewed to be a the full time medical director for our recently created OBI (Jan 1977). Our first challenges were tornados in Lawton, a misfired 12 inch howitzer at Ft. Sill and many more. Day to day & decision to decision the focus was always do no harm and put people first. For 20+ years we worked together facing many challenges- ALT, HIV, bombing, blood shortages, platelet needs, transfusion reactions, HDN, FDA, and many more. He was a true leader, brilliant, dedicated, and always pushing to do it right. Many challenges, an inspiring physician, and proving that hard work gives excellent results. God bless you, my friend.
